Gender Finance at The British Ambassador’s Residence
On the 2nd of October, members of The Luxembourg Gender Finance Task Force gather at the British Ambassador’s Residence in Luxembourg for a seminar and networking reception. H.E. Joanne Oliver, British Ambassador to Luxembourg, opened the event underlying the United Kingdom’s strong commitment to Gender Finance and the ties that bind both London and Luxembourg as leading financial centres.
Gilles Roth, Luxembourg’s Minister of Finance, further emphasised the partnership between the UK and Luxembourg, one that has flourished over decades on the basis of trust, expertise, and innovation. The Minister highlighted that “London remains one of our closest partners. And together we will keep building bridges, not walls.” He additionally noted the pioneering work done in the UK relating to Gender Finance and how it serves as a reference for the work that the GFTF undertakes in Luxembourg.
Emanuele Vignoli, CEO of HSBC Luxembourg and chair of the Education and Mentorship Working Group also highlighted the work done in the group, in particular relating to the publication outlining best practices on hiring, retaining, and managing female talent in finance. The networking reception served as an evening to gather Working Group members together to connect, compare, and turn ideas into real world practice.
